Jessica V.
Instructor
Early on, Jessica's love for movement found expression
through ballet. She honed her skills at the Orange County
High School of the Arts, where her dedication and grace on
the dance floor set the stage for her future pursuits. However,
life had other plans, and Jessica's trajectory shifted as she
pursued higher education.
At California State University Fullerton, Jessica embarked on
a journey into the realm of Political Science. Her intellectual
curiosity and desire to understand the world around her were
evident in her academic pursuits. Following the completion of
her Bachelor's Degree, she made a bold choice to enlist in the
Navy, driven by her aspiration for a career in the Armed
Forces. Tragically, fate intervened when Jessica contracted Lyme
disease during a hiking excursion. This illness dealt her a severe
blow, leading to the development of Rheumatoid Arthritis that impacted her entire body.
In her quest to regain mobility and reclaim her life, Jessica turned to Pilates. This method, known for its focus on core strength, flexibility, and balanced alignment, became her lifeline. With unwavering dedication, she used Pilates as a tool for her rehabilitation, gradually rebuilding her body and spirit.
Jessica's remarkable journey of healing and transformation led her to the role of manager at Shape Up Fitness Center in Corona Del Mar. As her passion for Pilates deepened, she pursued formal training and earned her Pilates Certification from Orange Coast College. Her expertise was soon sought after by various studios, including Soul at Home in Tustin, Equinox in Newport Beach, Triad Yoga, among others. Jessica's versatility shone through as she skillfully taught reformer, mat Pilates, and Barre classes. Her ability to connect with her students on both physical and emotional levels made her a beloved figure in the fitness community.
As life continued to unfold, Jessica faced new challenges, including motherhood. The
demands of raising two children were formidable, and her arthritis resurfaced, making even walking a painful endeavor. Undeterred, Jessica took a hiatus from teaching to focus on her health and family. After two years of steadfast determination and therapeutic care, Jessica made a triumphant return to teaching. This time, she found her niche in guiding group reformer classes. Her own journey of healing imbued her teaching with empathy, inspiring her students to embrace their own challenges and persevere.
