Emma
Instructor
Emma’s Pilates journey started young while still in high school. Cross-training dance, pilates and physical therapy she was able to reduce injuries caused by hyper-mobility. Her Pilates teacher training began while in college pursuing her BFA in Dance at Sam Houston State University: a misdiagnosed ankle injury resulted in a major surgery leaving her immobile for three months, followed by a long journey to relearn walking/dancing. This prompted her deep-dive into Pilates to restore mobility, strength and function post-surgery. Studying under a Balanced Bodies master trainer who was also a faculty member in the dance department, with her as a trainer she was able to regain strength and mobility while completing her fundamental training in Mat I and II, Reformer, and Cadillac; she finished her balance body training with various other apprentices through advanced leveling. While continuing her performance career she completed yet another program becoming comprehensively certified through Club Pilates. Before joining the Club Pilates family Emma taught dance wherever she went to ages three to eighty six, incorporating pilates into each curriculum to enhance the mind-body connection and reduce injuries. She is now one of our Lead instructors for the Thornton and Quebec studios, mentoring new instructors and encouraging everyone to continue to learn and grow, including herself. Emma lives to move and groove resulting in a consistent upbeat and positive class atmosphere, using her dance background to increase the internal body exploration in our everyday life.
