Carla W
Instructor
Carla discovered the transformative power of Pilates eight years ago in her 40s. While on a journey to lose weight and strengthen her body, Carla found Pilates intriguing—an exercise concept that allowed her to work out while lying down. Hooked after her first beginner class, Pilates became a vital part of her life.
Carla's love for Pilates stems from its accessibility to all ages, body types, and fitness levels. Embracing the variety of workouts and the emphasis on breath and mind-body connection, Pilates played a crucial role in her recovery from a major spinal fusion surgery, aiding in the management of chronic pain and depression.
Certified through the Club Pilates Teacher Training program in San Luis Obispo, Carla initially joined to enhance her Pilates knowledge and personal practice. Her favorite Pilates exercise is any side-lying leg work, and her teaching style focuses on providing education, encouragement, and opportunities for members to progress in their Pilates journey.
Surprised by the genuine appreciation from the Club Pilates community, Carla finds joy in sharing her passion. Outside the studio, she works full-time at Cal Poly in University Housing. A mother of four, including twins, she's accompanied by her loyal dog, Chucky. Carla's favorite mantra: "Be kind and helpful to others!"
