As a teacher of Pilates, Lisa seeks to help her clients garner strength, flexibility, and coordination through the delivery of progressive, balanced, and challenging workouts. Throughout class, Lisa consistently provides descriptive and motivating cues that aim to simultaneously achieve correct form, incorporate breath, enhance the mind-body connection, foster confidence, and of course, develop core strength. Lisa is passionate about educating all people on the incredible benefits of Pilates, and her goal as an instructor is to help her clients learn to move intelligently, both in the Pilates studio and in their everyday lives to promote positive mental and physical health over their lifespan. As aptly stated by Joseph Pilates himself, “Not only is health a normal condition, but it is our duty to not only to attain it but to maintain it.”
As a student of Pilates, Lisa was first formally introduced to it as a means to recover from years of tennis and soccer. The low-impact, core-focused exercise helped her quickly develop better muscular balance and flexibility, which reduced the chronic pain felt in her knees and hips. The clarity of mind she also experienced from practicing Pilates inspired her to pursue her comprehensive certification.
