Marjorie McKeal
Instructor
Marjorie has spent the last 24 years in education working as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and most recently as a reading intervention teacher. She earned her BA in Psychology, MA in Curriculum and Instruction, and an MA in Leadership from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Her love of teaching and wanting to help others is what has driven her to become a Pilates instructor.
While working in education, Marjorie was also a “Weekend Warrior” for the Colorado Air Force National Guard. She retired in 2020 after serving 24 years in the Security Forces, finishing her military career as a Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt). Marjorie's time in the military taught her the importance of staying fit both physically and mentally, staying vigilant, and the importance of camaraderie!
Marjorie started her wellness journey shortly after being diagnosed with Lupus in her early twenties. She was tired of suffering, so she took charge of her health! Marjorie was limited at first to what exercises she could do, so she started off with meditation and restorative yoga practice. After discovering the Pilates reformer, it became a regular practice which has improved her overall quality of life with increased balance, stamina, and a decrease in the daily symptoms that go along with her autoimmune disease.
Marjorie discovered Monument Club Pilates in early 2023 and immediately felt the positive culture and sense of belonging. She knew in her heart that this was the place to continue not only her health journey, but to also continue teaching “in a new way” while still changing lives for the better. Marjorie recently finished the Teacher Training Program through Monument Club Pilates and is excited to be a part of the Monument Team.
She is looking forward to helping each of you heal through movement!
