In early 2021, my chiropractor suggested that I start taking Pilates classes to work on my stability, particularly around my neck and shoulders since I was unable to release the pressure from my TMJ disorder. I focused on suspend classes in the beginning, but once I saw and felt improvement, I quickly started expanding the classes I took. When I initially entered the teacher training program, it was to better understand the concepts with the possibility of teaching. I became an apprentice teacher in May 2022, right around when I found out I was pregnant with my first kiddo. Teaching throughout my pregnancy as well as continuing to take classes from other instructors, helped me maintain and protect my core from severe separation. Since finishing my training program, I feel I am still growing as an instructor daily and throughly enjoy all of my time with Club Pilates!
