Katrina
Instructor
Katrina discovered her passion for Pilates in 2012 and quickly immersed herself in the practice, taking private lessons to deepen her understanding. In 2016, she enrolled in Riverside City College, completing a Comprehensive Pilates training program over 2.5 years with 800+ hours of coursework. Katrina delved into anatomy, methodology, and teacher training, honing her skills in addressing diverse needs, from injuries to pregnancy.
Throughout her college courses, she not only learned how to execute Pilates but also how to teach it effectively to her students and other teachers. Katrina worked directly under her teachers, gaining hands-on experience in addressing injuries, surgeries, and various limitations. In her final semester, she received a recommendation to teach at a local studio, leading to her dream job at a chiropractor’s office in Orange County, CA, overseeing the Pilates department with a focus on neuromuscular rehabilitative Pilates.
Katrina's desire to expand into group classes led her to also become certified as a stretch specialist. In 2019, she and her husband decided to start a family, prompting a move to Kentucky in 2022. Now residing on a growing farm, Katrina teaches a variety of Pilates classes at Club Pilates Malabu-Lex, blending classical Pilates with contemporary elements. Her style prioritizes safety and teaching alignment, aiming to impart new insights to the method, create a sense of connection, and make each class enjoyable and impactful for her students.
