Monica Vidal
Instructor
Monica Vidal is from Brazil, but her husband´s job brought them and their little baby to live in Houston in November 2015. In her early childhood, she started to dance (ballet, jazz, Spanish dance) and gymnastics, and those were her passion. She attended Physical Therapy College and started working with respiratory therapy at hospitals. But everything changed one day when she attended a Pilates intro class with her mom. It was love at first sight: with Pilates, she found a method that, through exercises, could provide wellness, body and mind awareness.
Pilates inspired her to become a certified instructor in 2007, and since then, she started to combine all the skills/knowledge from Physical Therapy and Pilates to rehabilitate her patients, from the most variety of injuries. She also attended Osteopathic School in 2008 and was granted with a Master´s degree in Public Health in 2012.
She started up her own Pilates studio in 2010, and kept attending workshops and courses to be up to date, until she had to move abroad. She is a huge fan of Joseph Pilates, the visionary creator of the method. She believes Pilates is made for anyone who wants body and mind synergy, and quality of life. As Joseph Pilates used to say : ” The mind, when housed within a healthful body, possesses a glorious sense of power”.
