Shana
Master Trainer
Shana’s background is in the arts. She took pottery classes with her mom as a young girl and has taken music lessons most of her life. She became passionate about fitness as a teenager though cycling, various sports, and resistance training. She started the music program at Belmont, but her love of most creative mediums led her to pursue art. In 2003 she earned her BFA from Austin Peay State University in Studio Art with a concentration in Ceramics.
After graduating, she took her first Pilates class and was instantly hooked! She loved how it challenged her physically, the focus required to do it effectively, and the mind-body connection developed from practicing it consistently. Pilates required her to focus on every element of her body while moving it as one integrated unit. It kicked her butt and she loved it! Learning her abilities and her challenges is what keeps her a lifelong student. There is always more to learn and another difficulty level to work toward. As a wife and mother, she knew she found a perfect exercise for longevity. Pilates helped her stay strong through the birth of both of her daughters and has helped with the much harder task of keeping up with them as they grow.
Shana earned her first certification to teach from STOTT Pilates in 2007 and began teaching in Hendersonville. She completed her comprehensive training in 2013 and has had the opportunity to learn from fantastic instructor trainers at licensed training centers in Chicago, Memphis, Atlanta, and Nashville.
Shana continues to learn and add to her knowledge of Pilates, having had training in injuries, special populations, and pre- and post-natal Pilates. Helping clients gain strength through Pilates is what keeps Shana excited to teach. Her teaching capabilities range from post-rehab conditioning to an intense total-body workout, varying programming and surprising muscles every chance she gets! Shana has been teaching for Club Pilates since March 2017.
