Instructor
Erin has been married for 33 years to her husband, Joe, and they are the parents of four adult boys. She has been a Pilates and yoga enthusiast since her 20’s and has practiced reformer Pilates at Club Pilates Indian Lake since 2015. Erin has a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and worked as a Registered Dietitian prior to having children. Erin re-entered the workforce as a certified paralegal in 2017 until she was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, an autoimmune inflammatory arthritis, in March of 2020. Realizing that range of motion and stretching exercises along with abdominal and back muscle strengthening exercises were ideal therapy for her body, she made the decision to change careers and pursue her Pilates certification through Club Pilates under the direction of master trainer, Shana Doyle. She finished her 500 plus hours of comprehensive Pilates training and apprenticeship teaching in early 2022 and has taught at Club Pilates since then. Erin absolutely loves working with clients and getting to know them on an individual basis, whether that be through group classes or private training. She wants everyone to have the opportunity to move at their best ability as long as possible emphasizing that “motion is lotion” for the joints. As an instructor who deals with the limitations of her autoimmune disease daily but has personally experienced the multitude of therapeutic benefits Pilates offers (strength, mobility, pain relief, physical balance and mental well-being to name just a few), she personally empathizes with members in similar situations and the different abilities they may have on different days, teaching to keep all motivated and challenged at every level while appreciating limitations and offering modifications as needed. When she isn’t instructing, Erin loves to spend time with family and friends and her 5 Bernese Mountain Dogs and 1 Great Pyrenees. Her hobbies include boating, canine rescue, bible study and growing her knowledge of the Pilates repertoire. Don’t be surprised if you see Erin on a reformer in a group class when she isn’t instructing as she loves participating in the classes under the direction of her fellow instructors! The dynamic of group classes where members encourage one another, smile and laugh with one another often developing friendships that continue outside of class are so priceless to her and she feels blessed to participate as an instructor and a club member at Club Pilates.
