Katie Ewald
Instructor
With a background in professional dance, Katie came to Pilates out of
a deep appreciation for the potential of the human body. For thirteen
years, alongside her study of the Pilates method, she was rehearsing
and touring across Canada and Europe. In 2007 she suffered a
substantial dance-related injury, and experienced, first-hand, the
rehabilitative power of one-on-one movement therapy sessions. This
intensified her passion to help others on their own journey towards
greater mobility and freedom from chronic physical pain.
She has trained as a Pilates teacher through Body Harmonics
(Reformer, Cadillac, Chair), as well as The Structural Studies Institute
(Mat, Reformer). She holds a BA in Contemporary Dance from
Concordia University, and a certificate from the Performing Arts
Training Studios in Brussels, Belgium. In 2019 she completed her
Oov Level 1 training.
With an eagle eye and a compassionate heart, she loves to work one-
on-one with people through physical challenges. Using a blend of the
diverse movement trainings she has engaged in as both a dancer and
a movement educator, she guides people towards a greater
understanding of their own bodies and how they work, while giving
them tools to feel more embodied!
As one of her core values is curiosity, she is constantly learning about
movement and bodies by studying different modalities through
continuing education.
