Tara Hayes

Instructor
Tara has been in the fitness industry for approximately 20 years. Starting with Spin and became certified with Mad Dogg Athletics. Through an injury, Tara found the powerful healing benefits of Pilates, became certified by Power Pilates and has been teaching mat Pilates since 2004. In 2010, Tara became certified in Barre and added that class to her weekly schedule. In addition to these certifications, Tara has taught indoor running classes and loved watching people accomplish their goals and enjoy running. She is a two time finisher of the NYC Marathon as well as various endurance races. It was with her own personal struggle of dealing with a heart defect as a child that her will to overcome obstacles began. Through all of her own training and experiences, she has been able to help others find their motivation and achieve their goals. She is also a breast cancer survivor. Tara’s love of the Pilates work and its ability to transform the body is what drove her to share it with others. She was excited to to complete her comprehensive certification and uses her enthusiasm and knowledge to instruct and support others. By teaching privately, and in group classes in gyms, studios, wellness centers and homes on Long Island and Western Queens, she has seen first hand how exercise can change a person into physically, mentally focused and self confident individuals. When Tara isn’t teaching, you can find her busy with her family and enjoying the great outdoors. Her favorite quote is: “Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness” by Joseph Pilates.
