Instructor
Heather holds a B.S. in International Relations, with a minor in French and Russian from the University of Maine and L’Institut Américan Universities in Aix-en-Provence, France. After a tedious career in New York City as a web designer, Heather decided to follow her passion for exercise and alignment and became an ACE certified personal trainer. Twenty-one years ago, her modern dance teacher retired and handed her a fabulous group of private clients on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Heather has expanded the business over the past two decades and continues to learn and expand with a focus on strength, rehabilitation, and care for her clients. Heather has practiced Pilates since 2005, but after a major hip injury 4 years ago, found Pilates to be the best mode of rehabilitation and switched focus, emphasizing the exercises and form with her clients. With a spirit of “every body is a Pilates body”, Heather loves to work with both seasoned clients and with people who are trying Pilates for the first time. Her calm and empathetic demeanor makes everyone feel welcome, comfortable and empowered. She has been working with many of her clients for 10-21 years and values these long-term relationships. Seeing people through their injuries and helping them recover and get stronger is a great joy. When Heather is not teaching in-person or remotely, she and her 9 year old daughter are adventuring and exploring the world!
