Walter credits his initial Pilates training with prolonging his 20 - year career as a professional dancer with the Lewitzky Dance Company, performing and teaching in 43 states, over 20 countries on five continents. He was trained by modern dance legend Bella Lewitzky to be a master teacher of technique, improvisation, and composition. His experience led to faculty appointments at California State University Long Beach, University of Illinois, and at University of Oregon where he is Associate Professor of Dance. He also holds a BFA in Dance from CSULB and an MFA in Dance from University of Illinois. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of movement and somatic training to his practice of Pilates. Trained in the Stott method, he has taught group reformer, mat and private clients at Mid-Town Pilates Center from 2002 until Spring of 2020. He is delighted to be joining Club Pilates and is looking forward as always to learning new things every day. He is continuously fascinated by the human body’s unique capacity for change.
