I have always been fascinated by the body in motion. As a swimmer, runner, and competitive volleyball player, I suffered from multiple injuries due to a hyper-mobility joint condition and muscle imbalances/compensations which set me on my journey to learn more about the body. As a NCFS Certified Personal Trainer working at a local gym, I realized I loved helping motivate people and guiding them towards health, strength, and wellness. I studied and fell in love with dance in college, performed with their dance company, and came to appreciate how much energy and intention could change the quality of movement. In 2010, I completed a comprehensive 500 hour Contemporary Pilates training at Long Beach Dance Conditioning under Master Trainer and Balanced Body University presenter, Marie-José Blom. This certification had a strong corrective & rehabilitative focus. The power of Pilates changed my life in many ways and was my path to regaining wellness, getting out of chronic pain in my body, and having more energy and passion for life. Seven years later, always on a mission to learn more and take things to the next level, I completed a second comprehensive 500 hour certification in Classical Pilates through Whole Body Method. Over the years, I have pursued many other trainings and certifications including: Pre/post-natal training, Pain Performance Specialist Certification for injury prevention in fitness/personal training, and a certification in Pilates for Injuries & Pathology through Basi. I am currently completing a second Personal Training certification through NAFC. I am passionate about helping people learn to heal themselves through Pilates and movement with the power of the mind-body connection. I teach with empathy and intuition combining and sharing my knowledge and training of anatomy, biomechanics, and movement to create a custom class for the bodies in front of me in every class. As a Certified Emotion Code Practitioner, I practice energy healing that targets trapped emotions & trauma in the subconscious and body that create physical and emotional dis-ease allowing people to break free from their past trauma and bad habits and patterns. I moved from my hometown in LA and teaching career in fall 2020 to Eugene to create a higher quality of life that allowed me to connect more with nature, provide multiple opportunities for movement (rather than spending hours each day commuting), and expand on my other health and wellness interests. When I'm not teaching, you will find me hiking, running, playing volleyball, adventuring out in nature, spending time with family, road tripping or at a Rock or Metal concert in Portland!
