I grew up on a farm in Iowa where I was taught to work hard with my family on my parent’s farm starting at a very young age which helped me to create a functional, strong body. When I was 19, I started my first fitness class by putting an ad in the local paper that said, “Come workout with me!” I’ve continued to teach and train both individuals and groups now for over 35 years to motivate others to accomplish their personal health and fitness goals.
Being a life-long learner, I am constantly researching best ways to improve the health and wellbeing of others. I help my clients by watching how the entire body moves, then focusing on strengthening and stabilizing weaknesses. I’ve had many of my own breakdowns in my body that I’ve healed over the years...my neck, low back and hip issues to name a few!
Last year in October 2021, I made myself a priority to train consistently so I could compete in the Daytona Beach Classic Women’s Figure Division for over 45 and 55. This was a long-time goal I set for myself 36 years ago! When I was 20 years old, I competed and won my first bodybuilding show. I said I would compete again when I was 45 (my mother-in-law competed the year after me at age 45). I missed my goal by 10 years, but I wanted both myself and other women to know it’s never too late to go after what you dream and aspire to! I get so excited when I see my clients and students make progress and improve with consistency and determination!
