Mikel participated in and went on to teach many sports including soccer, gymnastics and horseback riding. She began her personal pilates practice over 20 years ago in Phoenix due to extreme diastasis as a result of having four children in four years. Pilates enabled Mikel to understand her body and embrace all it could do while improving her flexibility, balance and posture. Mikel chose to become an instructor, completing her 500 hour certification through Club Pilates, both to refine her personal practice and to help others learn and grow in a safe and caring environment. Mikel is passionate that everyone participating in her classes feels successful and maybe even experiences an 'aha!' moment or two! When not practicing, teaching or creating Pilates flows Mikel enjoys hiking, cooking and spending time with family, friends and her dogs.
