Donna
Donna is a Bridge Trained, and a Comprehensively Certified Pilates Instructor through the Club Pilates Teacher Training Program. Like many little girls, she started in gymnastics at age four. She worked hard for about a year but soon learned dance was a safer place. She continued dance through her later teens never realizing that these were my first years of Mat Pilates.
In her thirties, after years of running and weight lifting, she found her one true love; Pilates. By the time she had her third child, Pilates time became fun time with neighbors and their kids. Running, which she loved, become her primary source of exercise.
All was good in the world until age forty-four when Donna suffered a traumatic brain injury with a skull fracture causing hearing loss in her right ear, along with the loss of both taste and smell, as well as balance issues and short term memory loss. She couldn’t walk a straight line much less run. As she began to heal she would try and exercise only to injure herself.
Eight years later and Donna is more like herself again! She attributes this due to her rediscovering Pilates.
Finally, exercise she could manage without injury. Not only did she regain muscle and strength, the mind body connection helped her with her memory, balance, and focus. She has always loved physical activity, but none more than Pilates.
Donna's amazing journey has brought her to her passion of sharing and assisting others in gaining strength, focus, balance and calm through Reformer Pilates.
