Sally Lowell

Pilates Instructor
Alongside her lucrative career as a sales executive in advertising, Sally began her fitness career in 1981; opening one of the first aerobic studios in Richmond, VA within Courts Royal, which later became the Richmond Athletic Club. She was one of the first to choreograph the cardio segment to the 32 count musical phrase and include strength and flexibility training. This resulted in a more rhythmic, dynamic and musically pleasing workout and the technique continues as the standard in the industry today. Over the course of her 30+ years in practice,Sally has developed a unique regimen focused on the specific needs of her baby boomer generation. She has been certified by AFAA, The Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, since 1987; and has served as a group exercise instructor or aerobics director at The Body Workout, Mademoiselle Lady, Contours (including the Westwood Club and The Federal Reserve), The Country Club of Virginia, Innsbrook Fitness Center, The Shady Grove YMCA and Curves. Sally won the inaugural Richmond's Most Physical Female contest which demonstrated strength, flexibilty, stamina and dance skills. She holds a BA in Communications from The University of Michigan and is currently an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor. Sally was also the first graduate of Club Pilates Teacher Training Program in Richmond to get her Comprehensive Pilates Certification.
