Dana Hershman
Instructor
As a dance major in the early 1990s’ Dana discovered Pilates through her dance teacher. She began training in Pilates and noticed that Pilates was a way to maintain her strength and flexibility. She fell in love with the technique and began her training to be an instructor in the early 90s.
With over 30 years as a Pilates instructor her experience and teaching has evolved over the years. Working throughout Southern California and Hawaii in high end fitness facilities and small boutique Pilates studios, her clientele has ranged from elite athletes, prenatal women, business men and women, cancer patients, people suffering from Parkinson's, neurological disorders and stroke survivors.
For over 10 years her work as a Pilates instructor evolved into working in the arena of physical therapy allowing her to focus on helping people back from injuries, surgery and other physical issues.
Dana has been with Club Pilates for over 4 years in the Austin area since relocating from the Big Island of Hawaii. As an instructor her goal is to give her clients a focused and progressive workout, by focusing on form, breath, balance and body awareness. When not teaching you will find Dana in the Pilates studio or gym honing her personal Pilates and fitness practice. She believes the best Pilates teacher is one that is a student first and that is continually perfecting their practice. When not teaching or in the gym you will find her throughout Austin working for Berkshire Hathaway Texas realty as a real estate professional.
