Mary Ann
Instructor
Mary Ann was raised in Berlin Germany, where she first began studying Pilates as a young dancer. In 1997, she moved to New York City to pursue a professional dance career. While dancing full-time, she turned to Pilates to keep her body injury-free, and found her life-calling. After graduating with a BA in Dance from Hunter College, she completely immersed herself in an in-depth study of Pilates. In 2002, after more than 650 hours of training over the course of 2 years, she completed the comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Program with Master Trainer Erica Essner.
She has completed advanced training in Pilates for Pregnancy, Pilates for Golfers, Pilates for Seniors, and Pilates for Osteoporosis. In her 12-years of teaching, she has worked with professional dancers and competitive athletes, pregnant and postpartum women, golfers, equestrians, tennis players, and all clients from ages 10 to 86. Her trained eye and love for the beauty and potential of human movement make her an enthusiastic and caring instructor.
