Nan Comstock
Comprehensively Certified Pilates Instructor
Nan’s love for pilates began when she got certified by Ana Caban for Mat Pilates in 2005. She then stepped into the first Club Pilates studio that was opened in San Diego in 2011 and realized the amazing benefits of practicing pilates on the reformer. She loves the strength and stability of the reformer and other pilates apparatus, and deepening the connection with the three “C”s of pilates: Center, Control and Concentration. She took the second reformer teacher training that the original Club Pilates offered and has been teaching Reformer and Mat Pilates classes ever since then. She has been a fitness instructor since 1981 when she started teaching aerobics, step and mat strength classes. She soon gravitated to teaching Yoga for its mind body connection, recognizing that breath with movement can have transformative results. However, after in depth study of pilates and anatomy she realized that Pilates is the one fitness model that keeps the body in proper alignment, and keeps awareness of muscular engagement, as well as proper breathing technique.
Nan loves Bend and enjoys spending time with her Llamas and Alpacas, hiking with her husband Steve, and Australian Shepard Sarge. She also enjoys spending time in Santa Cruz
where she has a daughter and son in law and the two loves of her life: her Granddaughter Makenna who is 3, and Grandson Bodhi who is 1.
